Functional Description
Our lights are going to be our point system counting in binary. The maximum points for the game would then be 7 (111), before it resets. The player receives points by hitting targets placed in the machine that are connected to a sensor. There will be 2 push buttons that control the paddles for the machine. There will also be a pneumatic cylinder that will shoot the pinball. Our traps will take hold of the ball, and send it back to the starting point. It will also end up at the starting point if the player allows the pinball to pass the paddles into a hole. Our BONUS FEATURE will consist of a windmill obstacle that will spin when it is hit at a certain angle by the pinball, giving off a rotating effect. The PLC is constantly checking the inputs to find changes in the circuit, if the PLC finds a change with the inputs, the PLC checks the corresponding output from the programme and makes the modifications needed to make the programme true. Overall the player has to reach maximum points while avoiding obstacles, in order to win the game.
